Cable/sat

We just got Directv and purchased a Mobil kit with tripod sat dish. Was told to just cable from dish to outside input then small cable from the output behind tv(cable/antenna) to the inverter SWM box and that was it.... NOT. as soon as we plug into the wall plate the "green light" goes out and you get no signal to the dish. Bypass the camper (go thru window) and straight to dish and n problem! What are we doing wrong..turn off booster btw...

The problem is the trailers wiring. To work correctly it needs a basically straight run from dish to receiver. Just bite the bullet, buy some good quality RG6 coax, dish/direct approved connectors and run a dedicated line. Not difficult, but does take some time and planning to make it look right. I placed a screw down connector inside in a good place, ran a single coax from there to where I wanted the wall plate. Using a household style wall plate to terminate the coax. Then its a matter of a short jumper. Using direct approved connectors which you can buy at HD or Lowes plus the crimping tool is fairly cheap and with a little practice are easy to do.

Or just find the splitter in your rig and remove it or replace it with a good power pass through splitter. I've done this lots of times for friends.

satellite signal doesn't like splitters before the tuner. After seems to be ok. This may work for you:

I purchased an out side connection just for Satellite. Haven't installed it yet but will in the next couple weeks.
