Considering a 30WR, towing question

I now have a 26 ft Work and Play and am looking at upgrading to a 30 WR. Want to make sure my F250 King Ranch 6.0 diesel will handle it ok. Anybody using a 6.0 to pull a 30WR or similar?

Hi Gary I talked to you before. I think your 6.0 will be fine. Your truck also has the towhaul trans which will be better for towing. My Ford F250 with 7.3 and automatic trans is 2wd. I had some porposing going on on my first trip. I added air bags which made the ride nice and fixed the problem. I also run a WDH with two anti sway friction bars. I would also get a electric tongue jack. Check the specs of your OEM hitch. My 30WR runs about 11,500lbs gross and 1350lbs TW..

Excellent, i am confident the 6.0 will be fine, the GVWR on my existing trailer is 11,050, the Work and Play 30WR is around 13,000 i think. Hitch is ok. I am going to look at a tuner, see to be lots of diesel owners using them.

Your right the 30WR comes in over 13k if fully loaded but since I only haul one bike I am a little light.. One time for just kicks I loaded full 80 gallon fresh water tank and I came in a little over 12k. The benifit of having a scale just a few miles down the road.. Normally I only run about 20 gallons in there till I get where I am going. I do like the new 110 fresh water tank in the new 30WR... Although when dry camping I think having more water than your holding tanks can handle could cause a problem.. They should have put in a extra gray tank...
