Dometic 13.5 A/C fan motor-switch

While currently camping in Kodachrome State Park, Utah, my Dometic 13.5 air conditioner fan motor has a few times now went to low while being in high position. The switch is on the air conditioner, there is no wall mounted thermostat. I have shut off and waited a few minutes to restart and it seems to work properly, until it doesn't . Air is blowing cold, but when it happens moving switch from high to low and back makes no difference in how hard the fan blows.

We are camping for the next 6 weeks and I want to get ahead of this before it stays on low and we stay on boil. I know it has to be either the switch or fan motor but don't know where to start. I would appreciate advice.

Hmmm, what do you mean "defrosting"? This was during the hot part of the day and never happened before. Been working fine since, but I don't want to be surprised.

On hot humid days the a/c coils will start to freeze.
There's a frost sensor on the coils if it detects freeze up it will defrost momentarily then fire back up full speed ahead.
One trick is more air flow.
If your unit is ducted just open up the quick cool dump for better air flow.
If its not a ducted unit there's little to do but keep your filter clean.
