I own a 2005 34FK and wanted to know if a Honda 3000is Generator is enough to run the AC, and a stereo ? I bought it used and it had no instructions. Anyone have any experiance with that size generator ?
That 3kw generator will run the A/C and most of the other items in the RV. It will not run the A/C and the MW (microwave) at the same time and it'll be hard pressed to run the A/C and the water heater on electric at the same time.
I recommend (2) 2000's in parallel. That way you have 4000 watts if needed and you can leave one of them home if you don't. They're also less than half the weight of a 3000.

What size is the AC? 13.5 or 15k btu? I have a 15k btu on my 5th and I have to run my two 2000. If it is 95 & above only the AC. Like Mr. Bama Rambler said, weight was a big factor for me. when your the only one setting up.

Since my Yamaha ER2400is runs my 13.5 btu AC, I would think the Honda 3000 should do a good job with your AC and stereo....unless you have a really big stereo.

Runs darn near everything in my camper in economy mode; just not at the same time.
To run the 15K Air Conditioner and/or the Microwave it must be in Normal mode. The econo mode does not have a fast enough "spool up" to deliver the initial current required and will trip it off.
Normal mode handles the ramp up with no problems.
