I have to say, when I tow the camper the spare tire gets a free ride in the bed of the truck. To be honest I only move my camper three or four times a year, we are ( almost ) permanently set up on our two lots. I liked the ideas especially the cable system, But like I said only moving a few times a year the bed is best for me...

Is anyone familiar or used the BAL under trailer mount spare tire carrier. It looks pretty cool and fairly easy to access. But, it does not look that sturdy. Please let me know if you have one and if you are satisfied with it.

mine mounts underneath and you raise and lower it with the same crank as the support jacks.

I keep mine in the truck bed which has a cap on it. Easiest place to access it and it keeps clean, is easy to check the air pressure and it's locked up. I was tempted to put the truck tire in there also but decided against it as I can't remember when I last had a vehicle tire problem.

Mine is mounted on a factory-installed swing carrier on the rear bumper/stinky-slinky carrier. It swings down (not sure why - seems like an odd design). All of the other trailers we have owned all had them mounted on a carrier bolted to the rear bumper like our current one.

Mine is in the floor, in the basement on my sabre.

Was thinking about moving it under with a bal storage mount thingy.

Where it is now, would be a nice battery tray.

On 5ers I've seen them mounted under the front and under the back with crank down styles such as a pickup truck. I've also seen FR mount them in the front storage compartment on the new 5ers as well.

I built a fold down mount for mine. Slides into the receiver hitch I mounted.
