How long, really?

We have a 2014 18ec and we have always thought the “box” was 18ft but we are looking to sell and get one a bit longer. Ours is listed as 24ft but the box is 19.5. So when I look at a 25wab and it’s listed as 30ft, does that mean the box is 25.5?

Sometimes the model number means the box length, sometimes it is overall, sometimes it means nothing at all. You can not always go by the model number for length.

x2. when in doubt put a tape on it. I have had 5 rigs in 10 years and don't thing there is a rhyme or reason to it.

My 832IKBS has a box length of 34'4" inches outside to outside. The front angles out from the roof to 3'6" from the floor then angles back in to the floor, coupler to bumper length of 36'14". When I lay a tape on the floor it is 32' inside wall to inside wall.


Some list the coupler to bumper, some outside the box front to rear measurement, and others list the usable inside floor length.

Same question here. Dimensions for each usually listed although sometimes hard to find in all the "noise" of features, etc.

Never go by the model number, to determine length.
There is no standard, in the RV Industry.

I finally found a brochure from 2018 online that listed the actual box length. The 25 wab is 27.5. Thanks to everyone who replied.

Just so you know when it comes to length restrictions, such as on a ferry, the length includes the tow vehicle, hitch and trailer, bumper to bumper. Even the spare tire if it extends past the trailer's rear bumper like most do.
