LED Lights

The factory installed LED light strip quit working this week. This is the strip installed right underneath the awning.

Its about 15 months old. I'm surprised but "oh well". Any ideas on how to find the problem? Wouldn't know where to start if I had to replace them except buy a new set and hang them somewhere else like most others do.

The first thing to do is check for power to the strip.

If the entire strip quit working it's most likely a power issue.

There are two 12VDC wires running up the leg of the awning arm. At the top they are crimped to the leads on the LED light strip. Check for 12VDC there. If there is 12VDC, then the strip likely has failed. You can buy 18' multicolored strips on EBay that fit right in to the channel under the awning way cheaper than from your dealer. They can be cut to length at 3" intervals as needed. You will have to attach a remote receiver directly to the existing 12VDC wires, but it fits right inside the awning arm and is easy to do.
