LPG tank sensor

Anyone here try the new Mopeka tank sensors? Tells you amount of propane left in tank.

I just bought them but haven't installed them yet. I did see lots of good reviews on them.

Yep, been using them for a most of the year. They have made some changes since I bought in the early spring. The most important is that the feet for the tanks are now made from aluminum. That keeps them from crushing the way the rubber feet did and they are soft enough to bend the tabs in to tightly clamp on the tank rim. The support group is very helpful, too.

One tip that I learned from the Mopeka tech support is to put a dab of petroleum jelly on the sensor pad when placing on the tank. That gives a good sound-conducting connection between the pad and the surface as well as making sure the pad doesn't stick to the tank bottom. (That happened to me once, earlier in the year-- AP Products sent a replacement sensor free of charge.)

I have been using one this season - the first sensor was not notably accurate. Mopeka sent me a new one but I haven't swapped sensors yet.

Installed mine yesterday. Seems to work just fine. Don't want to get up cold in the middle of the night when the furnace quits to change tanks. Once was enough!
