New 28ucr. Ready for mods

Just got back from our first time out with our 28ucr. We just picked this unit up last weekend. Headed to the sand dunes to give it a shake down run this weekend. We bought this for hauling our quads, bikes and my jeep.

So for the most part the trailer worked good. I did not haul much this trip. It towed great for being mostly empty. Everything in it worked perfect. There was no problems. But we need to mod it a bit to make it work exactly what we need. First thing on the list is to redo the furnace. The bath and bed get plenty worm. But the back where the kids sleep does not. My plan is to add two furnace ducts in the rear and hook the two in the front together to even out the heat out put. I will post pics when I start this. After that will be adding a 2000 watt inverter to it. And putting in heaver duty tie downs in the back for the jeep

Congrats on your W&P. Have fun with your mods but be careful, once you start it's hard to quit .

We just picked up a new 28UCR this past Thursday ourselves. Haven't had a chance to take it out yet thought.

New 28ucr. Ready for mods

Got some heater vents added tonight. I added one off the plenum where there was nothing before.
You can see where it was blocked off. I put the vent back by the other one that was in the cargo area.
This is what it originally was.
Then I took the two that go to the bed and bath and hooked them together so that there was another extra spot coming off the plenum.
Then used the newly freed up spot on the plenum to add another vent going towards the back.
We will try it out this weekend. We are headed to the sand dunes. So far it seams to have evened out the heat a lot better. Last time out it was like Maui in the front and like Alaska in the back. The kids should be better now.

Nice work. Looks really clean.

We were out camping this weekend and had the AC on. It seemed like the front got cooler than the back on ours. I ended up opening the vents directly on the AC next to the return so it hit the thermostat to kick it out faster.

Fourth time out this week. This trip is for 9 days. Got to the dunes last Saturday. Everything is working good. The heater mod is fantastic. The whole trailer stays the same temp now. Few pics

Looks like fun! Have you tried to stuff the Jeep in yet?

We just got back last Wednesday from an 1100 mile round trip to Northwest Oklahoma. No toy hauling yet though
