No free lunch

Family is looking to haul a 14' boat inside a TH when we start to travel again, and the WP is the only affordable line that has a big enough garage. I also like the fact it's built with a metal roof; my Salem's garage floor is rotting by the door, and I think it's from a small crack I missed this spring. Considering it's also built like an older semi trailer, that should signify good quality; we are looking for minimum maintenance.

Alas, all does not seem right with the world and this product line. From what I've read we need to do our own PDI; fridge drains, all exterior cutouts properly sealed, roof hardware and joints resealed with better products, at a minimum. I understand it's a fairly cheap unit to buy, but can't understand why basic structural and component integrity is so difficult to get right. I'm hoping the new units are built much better.

All of this would also explain why I'm having a hard time finding any new units within 1,000 miles in my size (38') in a fiver. They guy at my local CW basically looked like he tasted butt when I asked about them.

I called Work and Play (contact here: Forest River RV Contact Us - Forest River, Inc.) and gave them the specifics on the model I was looking for and they told me which dealers had in them stock. April was very helpful.

April is extremely helpful, when my wife adn i were looking at TH's, we inquired about touring the factories, FR - W&P was the only one that said, quite literally "im here nearly everyday, come on in, no need for an appointment, just show up and ask for me"

while i agree the quality of these units is a bit to be desired, all in all, we love ours and plan to continue our full time workamping out it for the forseeable future.

happy shopping.
