Nose Cap/Cone

Hi folks. Just joined the forum today. I've done some research on the net about using a nose cone and, as expected, there's lots of opinions available but few hard facts. Was hoping someone here can speak to an experience of going from not having one to having one on a very similar trailer and if they can confirm any real benefit. Both in towability, stability and fuel mileage. My wife and I are going to decide whether a 16UL, 18EC or 21UL are in our future in a few weeks. An 18EC without a nose cone could be the deciding factor as it can save us near $1000 if we decide to go without the nose cone. Thanks in advance.

I can't speak for yours, but it went from a slab front TT to a bullet nose 5er, I'm getting better fuel economy and I can hear the engine isn't working nearly as hard now. Plus, I went up nearly 5,000lbs in weight.

If I can help it I'll never tow without a nose cone again.

18EC here with nose cone. Not sure about the gas savings but it looks 200% better than without. A Few cents in gas cost should not be a deciding factor in your decision. Get the one your heart leads you to and stop being so cost conscience. If not you will be out looking for another next year. Go for the nose cone!
