Roof Construction

Can someone tell me what the layers of the roof construction is for the 2011 Work and Play Toy Haulers. I watched a video of construction on Ebay but it only showed a thin plastic film and then the one piece aluminum sheet. Is there some plywood up there somewhere? If so how much... I have a 30 WR...

After seeing the video you posted, I looked to see what I could find. Yes, it is one-piece aluminum. What I would like to find out is what's under the one piece aluminum roof..

Usually there 3/8 inch OSB (oblong strand board). I walk on mine, and many others, but I only weigh 130. Have been on campers with 2 others on the roof, repairing damage, etc. I am a tech, part time. A work and play may be solid plywood, sine the floor and walls are, at least they are on my 18 LT. I know that for sure.

If you really need to know, remove the inside trim piece for the vent, only 4 screws. You should be able to see the hole they cut, and the edge of the wood under the aluminum top roof.

I was thinking of that but then thought the vent holes could be reinforced because they are a vent holes? But I will do that and see what I see. Thanks...

I will explain the roof construction.
Steel of wood rafters are the core of the roof. Steel in all FRP models, Wood in Ultra models up until July 2011, then they were also switched to Steel rafters.
Steel rafter, inside has ferrowing strips on each rafter, 1"x2" this allows for the mounting of the cieling panels.
The roof in insulated.
there is no plywood decking over the entire roof. There is an area of luan down the middle for support. There is a vent box installed for all vents and A/C this allows for support around the vent areas. a 1 piece aluminum roof is pulled out over and mounted in place with perimeter trim and screws. Forest River does not reccomend walking on the roof. If you need to be on the roof for some reason, use a section of 1/2" plywood to distribute your weight evenly.

Thanks for that information. I guess that is what the video shows. I was thinking that maybe they had just left a part of the construction out.

I have never walked on my roof because I just did not know. Now I do. I have to admit I am a little disapointed. I have and will continue to use the plywood for support. Thank You..

You would think but if you watch the video and hear what Dcasteel wrote, it's just a thin layer center strip of Luan which is a inexpenisve plywood usaully around 3/16" or less down the middle and the aluminum roof over the top..
