The right size square bit should also work on the one in the picture.

I'm surprised you can't find them at the hardware store, how about auto parts stores.

Like OC said. Did you try a #2 sq bit? I think it'll work.

Hmmm. New one on me...sold tools 25 years. Looks like a spider drive. Learn something every day.

Would love to hear the back story on those screws . Picture the new guy in the purchasing department gets a call from the hardware vendor with one heck of a deal on a boatload of Screws. Says they're super secure and will bring more work back to the local dealers.

You are right. It is 8. I just assumed as my 6 pt wouldn't work that it was like sockets..6 pt & 12 pt.
Either way, I'm in need of a bit. I guess I will have to make the 80 mile round trip to the dealer or CW if my auto parts don't carry this.
Again, Thanks for the input.

Square bit is too small.

Home Depot shows them on their website. It doesn't say a size. Take an impression or a screw if you got any out.

KD I used a square bit on my camper and it fit those screw heads. I cannot remember what size though. If all else fails you may need a reverse bit that one would use to back out a stripped head on a screw. Good luck!

Well, it can wait I guess. I wanted to take the panel off & drop wire thru the floor for another outside power outlet. It would be a clean mod that way. I will just do as Iwannacamp says & ck Home Depot next trip.
I have easy outs & could drill them but since it's not an emergency I'll move on to the next project...building cabinets.
Thanks, all
