Tool chest on 18EC ... what did you use your generator rack for?
My original plan was to remove the generator rack and install an a-frame tongue box on our 2013 18EC, but the wife suggested keeping the generator rack and installing a larger box for the additional room. After searching for just the right size to fit within the rack, I settled on a Lund 79460SL/Tradesman TAWB60SLBK Tool Chest (same box, same manufacturer). I mounted the tool chest with the four existing self-tapping torx bolts that mount the generator rack ... basically, the rack is sandwiched between the tool chest and the a-frame.
Inside, I mounted dual batteries with a two-battery cutoff switch which these Work and Play models do not seem to have. It made for a pretty clean install and left lots of storage room for our sewer hoses, jack blocks, tire blocks, step and various other "outdoor" items.

Your generator rack is different than mine. Mine was cut more like the A frame. I used a large Delta box. I put four deep cycles in the bottom. Made a shelf on top of the batteries to hold electric cables and water hoses.

Nice install ... I had seen your install in the past and was planning the same, but instead removing my generator rack. After searching, I finally found a Tradesman "a-frame" style tongue box that was close enough to the angles of our hauler. Before I got to order it, we decided to go with her idea ... additional room is a luxury in our hauler.

I remove my batteries for storage so I ordered one but did not install the cut off switch.
I have an onboard generator that makes the wire size too large for the cut off switch.
I installed this 5th wheel box.

... great looking install. I saw those "fifth-wheel" boxes, but we liked the additional height and room of this chest. We too pull our batteries for the winter, but leave them in for storage so the cut-off was necessary for me.
We just got back yesterday from a bike rally and the chest was much better. Most of our outside gear stayed outside in the chest instead of in the hauler ..... tire blocks, stabilizer bases, WD hitch bars, dump equipment, etc. Most important were the sewer hoses .... it was great to store them up front the the chest as well.

Where did you get your tool box for the Generator box? I have the nose cap and most are too tall to get the top fully open.
Thanks Jack
