I have zero experience with tundras but 3 times a day I read threads about towing with one and they all seem to steer towards payload very quickly. My brief google search shows that to be a very heavy work and play unit? pushing the limits of any 1/2 ton truck. (coming from a non weight police guy.)

38 feet long and a GVWR of 13,000lbs? This is a joke, right?

I started with a 1500 z71 Chevy when we bought our W&P, 25 WB. Stayed in 4th gear almost always. Trailer seemed to control the truck. The W&Pís have a heavy frame but ours was it as heavy as what you are looking at.

dry weight and gross weight are two different things. 9k dry is pushing even a max to 1/2 ton. look at tongue weight and your payload and I think you will see a tundra is not up to the task. safely any ways.

That's too much trailer for my Chevy 3/4 ton. Definitely too much for a Tundra.

You can "pull" it all day long and through the night. The problem is the weight on the truck. I towed 2 fivers for 9 years with no power or stopping issues. But I had to use airbags to keep it from bottoming out on bumps and from sagging all the time.
However, the bags don't give more payload/cargo. They just keep it level.

Dry weight generally refers to the trailer as it came off the assembly line; no water in the tanks, empty waste tanks, no propane, nothing added on by the dealer. Using Gross Vehicle Weight gives you a more realistic number for a travel trailer thats loaded up and ready to go camping. Using 13% of the GVW will give you an approximate hitch weight on the back of your truck.

The dry weight of a trailer is a joke . My 30WR lists for just under 8k . On the scale , no water , food , cargo , just a few dishes , 2 propane tanks and too batteries is just over 10k . I figure any rv trailer is @least 1000 pounds more that its listed for .

I have a 2014 Tundra, earlier comment about limited cargo is very accurate. I try to pack light w/ total length 31'9"-2715 Flagstaff V-Lite. Total weight is 7100 w/ 40 gallons of fluids. No, I do not normally tow this way, but if we stay somewhere boon docking, I will for a short distance. We have added everything possible to the truck to make this work. OK on flat ground, towed 3.5 K between TX and Florida. Not enough truck for the camper you are talking about, if you have Tundra maxi cab, payload is 1400 total. The hitch weigh of your trailer is going to be 1100 lb +. loaded. Then add driver, passenger, tool box gas, firewood, propane and battery weight. The other weakness in this truck is brakes. I switched to TRD brake shoes and that helped, at 62K I have had front rotors turned, 3 frt. set of pads. My brother-in-law has a year newer and at 60k same story and only pulls light trailer w/ small tractor, very little. My previous trailer was 4K, no problem. These are great trucks, on my second one, but over 6K trailer weight and any hills, not enough truck. I get about 9 MPG-27 gallon tank.

Tundra

I agree, Dry weigh is before any options like 2 nd. air, battery ,full propane tanks electric down riggers, ETC. I had mine weighted by each wheel 960 over dry weight sticker. Toyota actually backed off max tow weights in newer models.

Wrong wwightWell I have a 30' WP. My trailer loaded with water tanks full, tounge weight is right at 1690 ish.

I used a 2017 F250 CCSB with a 6.7.
It pushed that truck around like a rag doll.
With proper wieght distribution setup.

Got of getting pulled around by 18 wheelers on the highway.

Problem solved 2019 F350 CCLB DRW.
Its great pulling it now.

FYI I get my tounge weight with a hitch scale and weight trailer on cat cert scale!
