I guess it would depend on whether the table is toward the rear or front of the rig. Our previous TT had the kitchen in the front with a 2 pedestal table. We didn't take it down for travel and never had a problem.

This TT we have now has the table toward the rear inside a slideout. We had the wobbly folding apparatus and didn't put it down to travel and found out on the last trip we should have been. Things will move around more in the rear.

Now we have a 2 pedestal setup and since the table is where it is, I'm going to take the tabletop off when traveling. All you have to do is pull up and wiggle a little and it'll come off easy.

Attaching pics of the death of the folding mechanism and my present setup.
