110v pass through

Hey all,

I'm camping at Brown County right now. Pretty cold so we have 2 heaters running and using the furnace as a backup. To run 2 heaters I have an extension cord running from the power post through the access door behind my sofa.

I was wondering if anyone has put in a 110v pass through so you wouldn't have to let in some cold air thru an access door. I was searching on my phone and saw this.

150BBIW.RV - Marinco - Actuant Electrical - 15A 125V Rv Inlet White W/Park Power Packaging

A sealed one would probably be better but I haven't seen one yet.

Any opinions?

Thanks

Greg

For now just put some duct tape around the opening to keep the cold air out. Remove it when closing up camp.

Painters tape would work and less mess to cleanup.

I'm not worried about it for this trip. I'm thinking for the future.

Why do you need the extra cord? Are all your 15amp on one breaker? If you were to add an outlet using the AC breaker you would be able to run both heaters.

I have not checked our new camper, but the old one only had 14 guage wire. I would not run 2 heaters on that internal wire.

Greg:

I added a receptacle and circuit so that we could run two 1500 watt electric space heaters. Here is the link to my mod.

I took the plug off and drilled a hole the size of the wire and put the plug back on the other side of the wall. Pull the wire through the wall, plug stuff in. When done, pull inside and coil up behind chair or whatever.

When camping in the cool weather, I simply run an extension cord through the end window of the bunk to the post and tuck it under the edge of the mattress and on to the micro-furnace or heater. It works fine.

What I do is run my extension cord at the bottom of the slide rubber seal at floor level it works for me. Then you get the use of the 15 amp breaker at the pole. Hardly see any light at all coming through, If I do then I just put a towel to plug it. Some old man showed me that and had the nerve to say "that's how you do it rookie" Boy you just get to meet all kinds of people camping, the best part of it.

You are letting in a little cold air at your main power cord port. Take the inside access panel off to the main power cord storage area and snake a heavy duty extension cord through the outside port beside the main power cord. You can mount can possibly mount a plug and face plate on your access panel, depending on how it is configured. store the extension cord out of the way of the main cord when not in use so they will not get tangled up.
