200 ROO 23b Dinette Slide Won't Work - Help

Two weeks ago upgraded from 8' popup to a 2009 Rockwood ROO 23b (one slide) - full of excitement..Until....Took the grandbabies camping and caught the busy one kept pushing the retractable button while we were sitting in the dinette area. When we got ready to leave, we pushed the retract button and the slide would not budge. (Note: we were hooked to power the entire time.) we finally realized slide could manually be closed with crank however it would not reopen. Called the local dealers one said it could be the motor. When pushing retract button it had sound as if it wanted to retract however there was no movement almost like slipping. Not to mention that there is little to no information in Manuel's received from previous owner. Being female don't want to get high jacked by dealers. If anyone has suggestions or ideas please help. Thank you in advance

I'm not familiar your specific model, but - probably worth crawling underneath the trailer to take a look and check a couple of easy fixes before you take it to the dealer. The slide motors usually have an inline fuse in the wire going to the motor. I doubt this is the issue though if you can hear the motor when you push the button.

The other possibility is a shear pin. Not sure if your setup has one or exactly where to find it, but there may be a pin connecting the motor shaft to the slide mechanism. It is intentionally the weak point, so if something binds or jams that breaks rather than more expensive parts like the motor itself.

I would start with verifying that you have power to the motor, and if so, try to trace through and see why the slide isn't actually moving.
