2009-10 Roo 19 fresh water tank outlet location (to pump)

The fresh water outlet on my Roo 19 is on the side of the tank near the bottom. It is about 1 and 3/4 inches from the bottom of the tank to the top of the hose line at the inlet. As a result, any amount of water less than this in the tank, cannot be pumped out, or the pump starts to suck air. So, basically the bottom third of the tank is useless unless I tip the trailer toward the outlet side. Does anyone else have this problem? I wonder if I could move the line to the pump to connect to the drain outlet at the bottom of the tank, then T into this line and add a valve to drain?

Just make sure you don't pump it dry. In THEORY most pumps are OK pumping air, but I would't want to do it very long.

Roo 19 water tank outlet mod

Thanks for the replies and link to the previous threads. Here is a pic of my recent mod to solve the unusable water problem. I plugged the existing tank outlet and tapped into the drain at the bottom of the tank and then Teed into that line for a drain. Two valves are required: one to train and one to turn off to prevent also draining the water from your trailer lines. I did some work with PEX and barbed fittings to connect to the trailer plumbing.
