2009 Roo 21ss TV mount

Hello, I'm the new owner of a 2009 Roo 21ss! I friend of mine owned this trailer and its like new! I would like to mount this TV to the wall above where pictured using a swivel mount (if possible). I was thinking of using some wing bolts so the TV could be removed during travel while leaving the mount in place. What have you done to mount your TV? Are there "studs"? Which fasteners? Also, what is the best way to run power to the TV when running on batteries?

you might bet lucky and find one aluminum stud above the cabinet.

i have the same tv cabinet as you do, in my 2007 23SS.
i installed an 400w inverter straight to the batteries. here's a pic of my install:

the inverter has its own on/off switch and is mounted on velcro.
i can also run the dvd, along with the television.

some with our type of cabinet, have permanently mounted the tv to the top of the cabinet.
but we don't watch much tv when camping, so we prefer to keep the cabinet top clear.
and didn't want to mess with a wall mount, since they didn't come with factory mount backer.

Yeah, you MIGHT get lucky and find one stud. But I'm not sure one stud would be adequate.

My suggestion is a table top stand on the counter top.

Another thought - use a solid panel (fancy plywood?) against the wall, held in place at the bottom (counter top) and top (shelf unit). Attach your wall mount to that.

This is kind of what I had envisioned actually. Anyone have pictures of theirs to inspire me?

I like this.. Which inverter did you use? Im thinking of just making a custom wood mount that bolts down but can be easily removed.

I got the inverter from HF.
Cost me about $18.

What outlet?

The silver box, on the side of the cabinet, with the two outlets and USB port IS the inverter.

I had a 2008 Roo 21SS. Same floor plan as yours. I took a piece of 1x6 cut, cut it to fit from the ceiling to the cabinet top, stained it to match the rest of the camper and screwed it to the wall with 8 or 10 brass wood screws. Mounted the TV mount to that. 24 inch TV if I remember correctly. It never moved. Be careful on screw length.

How exactly did you "screw it to the wall"? My understanding is that this wall is hollow? Thanks

The walls are luan over foam. The luan is probably 1/8th inch thick. That's why you go ceiling to cabinet top with 8 - 10 screws. Like I said, ours never moved. I used to leave the TV on the mount. The wood I used was cabinet grade that I sanded and stained.

Thanks I was thinking of using rivets or glue but I love your idea of going to the ceiling with a nice chunk of wood

Looks good. Be sure to come back in the Fall and let us know how it held up.
