2011 Roo 21RS loud fridge fan

Is it common in Roos for the fridge fan to cycle on and off every 3 to 5 minutes? It is a rather loud humming sound when it is on. Is this normal also? Why does it cycle so often? Is this is an indication of a problem?

Are you sure it's not the converter fan?

No we're pretty sure it's coming from the fridge.

On second thought it could be the converter fan after all.

Then it's probably due to a low or bad 12v battery.

Some do some don't have fans.
The converter fan comes on due to high load.
Lots of lights on or a bad battery is possible.

If it's the fridge fan,,,,then your fridge is installed on a slide. Go outside and put your ear to the lower fridge vent. If it's louder,,,,that's what it is. It comes on when the condenser outside needs to cool down. Without it, you'd have no refrigeration. You don't normally see them on fridges that aren't on a slide, because the condenser heat leaves more easily out the top vent.

Only slide we have is the rear bed. Fridge is to the left right as you enter trailer. Hubby took off the outside access panel (which is to left of entry door outside). He looked up into it and there are 2 fridge fans which are either the same as computer fans or at least look like them. It is definitely them cycling on and off frequently. Its not freight train loud but it is noticeable and annoying.

So question is: is it really normal for them to cycle on so frequently?

We are under the 1st year of warranty so maybe we can get them replaced for quieter ones or at the least we'll have it looked at.

We have a rockwood & took ours in for a warranty issue related to this same issue. The dealer said they noticed nothing wrong, the sound was normal. 😕
