I would give RVWholesalers a call like someone else mentioned. We've been able to save thousands over buying from local dealers, though we are in Texas. I am pretty sure they do lots of business with Canadian buyers and are very familiar with the process.

We're in Kingston Ontario and bought our Surveyor from Jeff Couch’s RV Nation in Hamilton, Ohio. I don't see a 233s in their stock but they custom ordered ours for us so it's worth asking. About $6000 in savings with everything included including travel, meals, hotels, duty, fuel, taxes, exchange etc.... They even register the trailer with the temporary permit for the trip home you'll just need to arrange insurance.

Unfortunately the exchange rate has dropped 10 cents since we bought ours but still worth considering.

We were able to get a local dealer to come within $600 Canadian of the US online dealers after currency exchange. In my opinion it made it worthwhile to buy here instead of crossing the border and ten hours of driving plus a likely overnight stay. It is 3 degrees celsius today. Can't wait for spring to get here to go camping in our new Roo 233s!

The dealer didn't have exactly what we wanted so it will be ordered from the factory. They believed they will have it delivered to them in January but they are going to store it for us till mid May. We will likely pick it up in April when provincial parks open up in Ontario.

Once it's in, I'd go check it out. Then if there are any items that need fixing, they could do it in your off season. Better than them having it sit there and then in May find out it needs 3 months worth of work...

congrats on the new rig, BTW!

With the current exchange rate between the Canadian and U.S. Dollars, Canadians are paying an extra 14 cents on every dollar when buying in the U.S. That makes cross border shopping less attractive but it still may be worth it. Personally, if I could get within $2000 I'd prefer to buy local, save the expense of the trip and hopefully get preferential service from the local dealer.

In the first quarter of 2013 we were at par and the savings to buy stateside were huge.
