Interesting.
My 2003 StarCraft came with two hooks mounted on the wall on each side of the bed opening. One hook high, the other low. It came with bungee cords to make a "X" across the opening to hold the mattress to the door when closed. Before closing up the door, I would hook the bungee cords and then fold the door with mattress up and closed. I would think a mesh type cargo net would also allow you to do the same thing. Removing and placing the mattress on the floor would be a real pain.

Our 233s has a LOT Of velcro, tight where the mattress folds, velcro runs the whole length of the mattress. It is very strong hold. Like to remove the mattress I really have to yank it very hard. In transit we un-velcro the mattresses and pull them about a quarter off the platform then fold up the doors. The rear one is a little tricky but so far the door latches despite the tight squeeze.

Our PDI is not until next Wednesday but we have been over to check on the Velcro. Ours has Velcro along the hinge and on the back of the mattress at the fold, very strong Velcro. There is none on the outboard (end window) side of the mattress, that is where I'm thinking about adding some. It seems to me that without any support at that side when the bunk is closed, the mattress will fall off the platform...not a good thing.
The idea of putting hooks on the inside wall so that bungie cords could be criss crossed across the mattress may be an option too.
