2015 Roo Shower Walls Useless

Can anyone tell me why FR didn't just make the walls in the shower flat, these two shelves that stick out are useless and I wish I could change them.

You're right! More of a visual effects for appearance, then not. They do look rather useless given the depth they appear.

Might be possible to modify it in a way to accommodate a couple of hanging wash cloths, if indeed you use the shower. Looks about the right size for one, and they wouldn't stick out being they are already recessed.

Agree. Same walls as my previous htt. Nothing stays on those shelves unless your trailer isn't level. Also, the shower controls could protrude just a little bit less.

Mine actually will hold like hotel shampoo bottles, so I don't hate them...but I agree pretty pointless.

Great idea, RooVader.....These little hotel bottles are perfect for camping.

Now that you mention that, I could see a mod being made by attaching some sort of acrylic strip ( being waterproof ) across the entire openings to hold the bottles in place. And they would most likely be secure even while traveling. Or possibly a netting material would work as well. I'm sure with a bit of imagination one could make a sweet little mod.

We got a "Command Shower Caddy" (see here) and mounted it on the wall just above the useless shelf. It's been up for a year now and hasn't come off the wall yet.

To me it is all a non-issue with those awesome hanging pouches. I love those things. I think my shelf might be a little deeper in the DK though...I swear i had a regular bottle sitting on that thing last weekend but now I can't remember.

they've been installing these shower enclosures, with useless shelves, for years.
our 2007 23SS has the same enclosure as pictured.

Nope, they fall off too (unless your camper is not level). But, they don't hurt your toes when they land on your feet!

Maybe they should add a sticker that says "this shower is for simulation only...any attempts to actually shower and utilize the pretend shelf will not be the responsibility of Forest River or its subsidiaries".

Mounted a second Command shower caddy behind stove so salt, pepper, pump style hand soap and one other item are always at hand. Got a larger wire basket and big Command hooks to hold in place on bathroom counter top so items do not wind up in the black water tank when we forget to close the lid!!

So I assume those command hooks are easy to setup and re-usable? Might get some for towels in the bathroom. I don't want to drill holes for the toilet paper holder and paper towel holder that FR includes but doesn't mount

The adhesive strip between Command device and wall can be removed and new ones purchased. Usually on the same display in store. VERY IMPORTANT: pull removal tab slowly, steadily and all the way to release device or you might damage the wall.

We have the same shower in our Roo and the shelves seem to be for decorative purposes only

Anything solid across the end will trap water, unless it's up a bit and leaves an opening at the bottom for the water to run out.

Thanks Rockfordroo. My BAD!

Yes, that's what I meant. Just a poor choice of wording, now I see. Thanks for the clarification.

Is the shower enclosure in your TT made of a sort of bumpy white plastic material? I tried to add some velcro strips along the shower walls in our 23IKSS and they didn't stick more than 10 minutes before peeling right off. I think it's because the walls are not a smooth material and the strips couldn't get a good grip. I'm afraid the command shower caddy would do the same thing.

X2
That pouch is awesome!! Love that all my shower stuff can stay there!! And the little loops on each bottom corner are the perfect size to slide my razor through. I also went to walmart and bought 2 3M waterproof hooks and installed them on the wall to hold our shower puffs. My DH uses the shelves for his shampoo and wash.
