Talking 2016 Roo 233 S

This has been such a great forum that I wanted to thank you all! After much reading here, I sold the TH and bought a new 233S. I think it is going to be a great investment. I haven't taken it out camping yet, but have been doing a few mods and tricks that I learned here, and it has been fun. Here's what I have done so far:

1. Installed the reflectix thermal barrier in all of the tent windows.
2. Installed the PUGS on all 3 tents. Did not see the thread about having the velcro installed on them before I ordered, so will just have clips on them first trip. Will see how that goes.
3. Installed TPMS system and steel valve stems.
4. Installed red stretchy thing on my TV antenna lift so I won't forget that it is open.
5. Installed steel mesh dirt dauber blockers on most of the openings.
6. Made up 2x6 blocks 3 high with rope handles on each for the jacks
Made 2x10 ramps for driveway parking that set the trailer up level.
7. Installed splash guards in the shower enclosure
8. Installed Plexiglas shield on bathroom cabinet.
9. Learned the trick of turning on the 2 exhaust fans before folding up bunks. I might teach that one to the guy that did my walk through, he apparently did not know about it.
10. Installed a clothespin on AC drain on roof.
11. Potable water pressure regulator
12. Surge protector on shore power cord

All of these things I learned from this forum, and I am an experienced camper. Thank you all! Now if I can just change my handle on here...

Wow, that's quite a list! Congrats on the new hybrid.
Where did you install the blockers to keep out the wasps, etc?
And yes, you'll want to change your sign-in name

I put them on the water heater door, the oven vents and the refrig vents on the back. Haven't tackled the A/C cover up top yet.

And you did all that BEFORE going camping? Wow! I'm not sure that's fair. I think you should suffer at least a little bit of the "before" rather than simply jumping to the "after".

One other mod to consider is the removal of the in line water filter and filter housing. Strongly recommended by me....you might guess why. They seem to unscrew by themselves, dumping water on the floor, or the housing splits, dumping water on the floor. Neither outcome is desirable in a new camper. Search this forum for water filter issues and you will no doubt remove yours. Good luck with your new unit. I have the same model and really enjoy it.

I missread the model number of your Roo. We don't have the same model. I have an ikss, but the problems with the water filters are common to all Roos.

I don't' know what Salem Owner does with a clothespin, but down here in Texas during the summer months, my a/c creates quite a pool of condensation that drips constantly.

Sometimes at night, all you'd here was drip, drip, drip on concrete, etc.

To solve that, I have a clothespin and some twine and hook that up on the "active" gutter. The twine is secured to the ground. In the matter of minutes, the stream of condensation glides down the twine to the ground - no more drip, drip, drip.

Red Stick: I guess I only halfway did that mod with the clothes pin! I had read that putting a wooden clothes pin on the A/C drain extends out the drain enough that it won't splash onto the pretty fiberglass on the way down and make a stain. Works much like the stick in the end of the moonshine still tube. The string extension sounds like pure genius and I will be adding it forthwith!

Also, when I went today to pick up wheels and tires after leaving them at a shop for metal valve stems and re-balancing after installing the TPMS monitors. The guy said he did not have the proper stems for my aluminum wheels, so he just re-balanced them for me. I guess now I am on an internet quest for proper valve stems, unless one of you already has the solution?

AHH I see said the blind man! A string to carry water away, how novel an idea!

If you are talking about the clothespin and twine - this is the best I've got as I don't recall ever taking a picture of the actual deal. Look close at the gutter on the left of the picture (if this works). You will see the clothespin and twine leading to the ground.

You are welcome. Not the best picture, but you get the idea.

Works like a charm. I typically tie a loop to the bottom end of the twine and stake it down with a tent stake if I'm working with the ground. If concrete, I just loop around a rock or something.
