2017 21DK Mods

We just picked the camper up a couple weekends ago, but after one trip I have already discovered several things to make setup/hookup/use easier. I'm wondering what else everyone has done, these mods so far aren't really specific to the 21dk.

First trip and last of the season:

Added bag, plate, bowl, napkin, and towel holders.

Rewired radio so both speakers are on one zone and added RCA's cables from tv to radio to play tv through speakers.

Replaced sewage cap with handle for easier opening and closing.

Felt hooks over bathroom door on both sites for towels and coats.

Surge protector plugged into outlet that outside fridge was plugged into and fridge plugged into that so I can turn it off easily.

Electrics tongue jack and holder for chains so they don't drag and I can leave them longer.

Coiled emergency brake wire that won't dangle and easy hookup.

Nice mods you have been busy, you may want to repost to the "what did you do to your camper today" thread and more folks may respond and get the benefit of your mods

Good ideas, couple more for you, Digital thermostat, curtain between bathroom and wardrobe, replaced all the exterior bulbs with led, and the stove fan, made insulating panels for the bunks with infrastop. Also mounted a back up camera on back and ran wires up to hook into my Tacomas radio display. Before next season plan on moving the heat duct on the floor by the fridge over to the front bunk.

Thanks! I already did the digital thermostat, just wasn't in the first post and I have a few more items coming for more changes even though it's technically winterized for the season I don't see why I can't keep working on it . Do you mind if i ask what the purpose of the curtain is? Changing? I like the infrastop idea, I had used reflectix in all the windows in our old pop up cut to fit between the screen and canvas. Also have been looking at the observation cameras that it's pre-wired for. I was thinking about about the ducting move as well, but was thinking more of a split instead of a move with a shut off for each.

Yes changing, we really liked the 23ws with rear room, but we went 21dk to lighten the load.

I like the idea for changing privacy but not sure how well it would work with the door there for us. We are almost always camping with a large group of friends and kids are constantly going in and out.

I liked the 23ws as well, but we went with the 21dk because I can't fit anything bigger in on our parking pad and I really liked the out door kitchen area. Towing isn't really an issue, our truck is rated at 12k lbs.

The tongue sits just barely past the telephone pole to the left and you can see how much I over hang. Anymore and i'd be worried about damage when the plow comes through the alley.

Love the "ZOMBIE OUTBREAK SHELTER".
Now you need to put one on your TT!

Thanks, I was wondering how long it was going to take someone to say something about that. I noticed it was in the picture after I took it. Looking back again I see my reflection is in the microwave and I'm wearing my zombie hunting shirt also. For reference, here is one of my other toys:

I don't know about LeHigh Valley, but there are a lot of Zombie like beings in Lycoming county (we used to live there before we escaped to west central Ohio - a Zombie free zone (mostly))

Definitely some zombie like creatures roaming around here, especially this time of year

Did some more little things tonight. Nothing major but maybe it will give someone else some ideas to build on.

Used an outdoor command hook to hang a gift we got from my in laws. Obliviously it won't stay on during travel or storage.

Mat on clearance at home depot.

Picked up a bunch of these little storage bins that were on sale for .98 cents at depot.

I ordered one of these quick disconnects for the hose, it seems built well and cuts off water flow when disconnected so I think i'm going to add them to all my hose fittings.

This one is hard to see and I stole it from another thread, not sure where. But I used stick on wall protector cut to length on the bunk end edge. I wasn't sure if it would clear the cabinet doors, but it fits perfect. Did this on both sides to prevent wear.

Covers for the heater exhaust came in today so those got installed, walked them straight from the mailman to the camper.

Nice mods and pic's.

Might want to cover up the fridge grille openings and WH cover openings when you get a chance. Bees love those openings as well.

Thanks!

Those are coming. I've got a rather large wish list for the camper on amazon, every time I order supplies for the house or whatever else we need I add an item. I enjoy having the items slowly come in throughout the month and focusing on doing one item at a time. It's winterized at this point and the cover is ordered and will be going on shortly. Kind of my way of still being able to have something that still relates to camping to do in the late fall and winter months. I'm already looking forward to our first trip next year for Easter.
