21ss roo 30 amp pedestal tripping

Help, when running AC the 30 amp shore power trips. . The only thing running is hot water heater. Thanks

Can you reach a different pedestal and see if that one trips?

A couple of questions. Just to clarify, you are saying the pedestal breaker is tripping, right? Or are you referring to the Roo's main breaker or the air conditioner branch circuit breaker? Also, besides the AC and HWH, were you also running the fridge on electric along with the converter (charging the batteries)?

If its the park pedestal, I suspect low voltage. You can (and should) check for this before plugging in anyway. Do you have a voltmeter handy?

You could try running the HWH and fridge on propane and see how the AC works with that.

if it is the Park's Pedestal breaker - could be a faulty or weak breaker also
How many volts were at the pedestal before plugging in?

I have a handy plug in meter that tells me how many volts are at the pedestal and if it is wired wrong or not - comes in very handy before blowing up the camper.

I have had this a few times and the way I fixed it was with a 50 amp to 30 amp - the breaker never popped and the cable wasnt getting warm either.

If it is the Main breaker in the trailer - it means you have too many things running and drawing over 30 amps.

If the pedestal voltage is less than 110 volts, your camper will draw WAY more than 30 amps running the water heater and air conditioner at the same time.

Watts = Volts x Amps. Low volts means high amps to do the same work.

Turn off your electric water heater element and use propane.

if you are at the low end of all 4 you are drawing 27 amps the high end you are are at 45 amps. This is the reason you tripped the breaker at the post. If it was a hot day and most of the TT were running their AC then you most likely had a voltage drop at the post. By putting your WH on to propane you will be dropping your amp usage by a min of 9 amps.
