21SS Slide out Topper $$ ??

Picking up our new 21SS this week. Pumped up! Have a question, going thru past threads, looks like an awning thingy over the slide out (Slide topper is correct name I think). Wondering what a fair / good price is for one? Am on a tight budget and trying to justify the expense, tho seems like a good investment.

Thanks to all

We had one installed on our ikss 2 years ago. As I recall, we paid about $300. Imo, money well spent.

$362 if installed as an option from the factory. Most dealers will charge about $700 or more for the same thing.

Yep, factory install is way cheaper than aftermarket install.
You should have asked for that option when ordering.
Now it'll cost you at least double.
We made that mistake. It cost us $500 and that was 10 years ago.

We added one to our 233S and are very happy that we did.

Been nice if salesman would have mentioned it when we ordered. Didn't know such a thing existed. Better yet, I should have done more research before ordering. Quoted 600 + tax. Not too bad a price, I guess. Wonder how hard to install? Maybe order parts & install myself

If your handy with tools and have a friend to help I don't think they are that hard to install. Check YouTube and see what's involved. You might want to do it yourself. Save a lot that way. Probably one of the best investments you can make.

I needed 3 after the purchase. Waited until CW had them on sale and install was on sale too. Plus I get 15% off labor for 3 years so ~~ 2 different sizes but purchase, install, tax and all came to just over $1500.

Yep, slide toppers are listed in the Rockwood brochure, as optional for all Rockwood models, including Roo.
They're also listed on many online Roo dealers websites, like RVW and RVDirect.

If you haven't picked it up yet the dealer may still give you a good deal as a dealer installed option. I negotiated that when we were making the deal.
