233s - cleveland oh to beech fork state park wva experience

put the 233s through a trial run this weekend in prep for our 3 week trip out west.

700 miles
1 over night
9.4 mpg with my 2004 5.4 f150 screw cruise set at 60 with over drive off
major elevation changes throughout
gas fill ups x2
meals on road x2
rest areas x2
crazy back roads x2 - sharpest hair pin turn leading into beech fork state park i ever saw (even without a trailer) - grooves in pavement made by previous low riding trailers and broken guard rails made for tense passengers. missed turn off on return trip and took 15 mile route up and over a mountain. road was so narrow it had no center line. images of lucy and dezi were top of mind.

both dw and I took turns backing up to hitch the trailer and nailed it perfectly on the first try (pioneer app radio with back up camera worked great)
DW broke camp and towed the trailer 100 miles in prep for her girls weekend. - so glad she learned to set up/tear down, hitch and tow the rig. it will definitely make our 3 week trip out west easier now that we can split the tasks.

beech fork state park just outside of huntington wva was a really nice state park with big sites, but limited shade. travelers beware of the crazy roads and hair pin turns. trying to arrive at night in the dark is not advised.

the 233s is great! cooled fridge before we left and ran it on gas to and from with no issues. everything has been working very tell and it tows very easily. everyone slept well. tried out AC briefly when we first arrived. cooled the unit quickly but determined we wanted the open air so didnt use it.

next up....dump station, plumbing, etc. stIll havent experienced this with any camper yet

bike transport....thinking about camping world's folding bikes. they will fit under my are cover.

oh yea, the 16 inch shank i got so i could drop my tailgate worked as desired too.

cant wait for the big trip!

Some pics

The lake has a 10 hp limit.

Sharing 1 pic of the 16 in shank and my ability to now drop the tailgate with the trailer still attached.
