Ours dropped while we were on our first extended trip. And like you , it dropped right on the battery disconnect switch and snapped it clean off. Fortunately, we had it on "battery connected" at the time so I didn't have to do any camp site surgery. I emailed Gregg @ Forest River and within an hour he emailed back to say that a new switch was on the way to my house.
I had explained that I was going to go ahead and try the double sided tape as a fix. His response was to keep him informed as to how it worked out and if it wasn't doing the job to let him know and we'd figure something else out.
While several others have complained about this issue, I believe mine had to do with the roads we were on while driving across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan along Lake Superior. The GPS dumped us on to a gravel/dirt road for about 30 miles that had a ton of bumps and dips. I am sure that that is when the plastic frame on the bottom started coming undone.
