what kind of power tongue jack? I had an issue with my old one and figred iut I kept shorting iut the fuse. they were cheap but it was a nuisance. I ended up getting my dealer to change it out for me

I believe it is an HC 3500 or something like that. It has a cap on top with a bubble level that you remove to use the manual Jack handle. It had no o-ring so water got down in it and locked it up.

Yep that's it. I keep a bucket over it now while it's parked in the yard. Front bed protects it while camping.

Yup, mine too and same problem. I probably could have had it warranted but I hate my dealer so much I just went ahead and bought a new one. Great deal on Amazon. And... when it arrived I found packed in with the power jack was a waterproof cover. It's like a bag and you slip it over the jack and pull the cord tight at the bottom. And they re-designed the top of the unit so even if the gasket is not on there, it has a lip now which prevents the water from easily dripping in.

Honey Bear. Stayed there for 3 nights summer before last. They try hard, they really do but the grounds are a mess. Road, what road. They have to personally guide every trailer in to park because of that. Watch out. Also a fair amount of full timers there and they are not in the upper class. But parts of it are really nice and if you get that, all is well.

How about an automotive rtv gasket compound? Or, you could get bags for different seasons. Maybe an orange one now with a pumpkin face.

It needs to be a true gasket because if you ever need to manually crank it, this bubble level needs to be removed. I would just get some gasket material and cut one. Cork sounds good.

I don't have the power jack you guys have. The dealer I just bought my 23ikss had the Bulldog. That has a rubber plug (though when researching I thought the bubble level was kinda cool). Does the bubble level screw down? If it only fits like my rubber plug, there may not be enough compression for a cork gasket to give you a tight fitting. RTV form a gasket may be a better choice. It would allow you to still pry the bubble off.

timely post.....i had the same power tongue. on 2 occasions it didnt work and i had to hand crank it. it then completely seized up. i had to disassemble it to be able to crank it p and down in order to get to the dealer. the inside was full of rusty water so understandable why it seized up. the replacement has a rubber gasket covering the hand crank but no level on the top

on a side note my battery was stolen while at the dealer, always something!

The replacement plug didn't have the level on it. It attaches with 3 small screws so the tech removed it from the old plug and reinstalled it on the new one.

2nd time I've read that. Were the cables cut or were they 'kind' and unbolt it?

they were kind and unbolted it. although seems a little suspect when i complained the service guy quickly came out with a battery that looked a lot like the one i had!
