I didn't get to this year but I plan to next year. I wasn't clear on all the details but were the sites free from Thursday-Sunday?

Flintlock has a playground and I think cable. KOA has a playground and farm animals to look at and feed but no cable or wifi as of last time I was there. Both offer free coffee in the mornin

Yes camping was free from Wednesday thru Sunday. Some folks were there Labor Day weekend and never left. Others were lined up on Tuesday morning before the gates opened like Best Buy on Black Friday
They had bands Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Fireworks Saturday evening too. Breakfast and dinner on saturday were also provided. All free of charge. Lots of activities for kids on Saturday.
I was very impressed with the event. It is an incredibly thoughtful thing to do for their customers. Camping spots were very tight and not all had sewer hook ups but the bath house was very clean the entire weekend.
Next year will be the 35th anniversary of the event so I imagine it will be even bigger.

Flintlock has cable ( need to pick up the free cable box at the office) and free wifi ( the closer to the office, the better it works). The creek is the big attraction.Click image for larger version

Thanks asquared, made it home. Down the 2.5 mile, 8 per cent grade, I used 2nd gear and kept it between 35 and 40 mph. Worked great!

Hey NCCamper, glad to hear good reports on Flintlock. We are in Winston Salem and like mini vacations. I will check it out. Good luck on your journey.
