23IKSS Questions
First, we'd like to thank all the folks who have been helping us sort through the decisions involved in purchasing a ROO and a tow vehicle! Your experiences and willingness to share your wisdom have made a profound difference in our journey.
We have a few more questions we'd like to throw out there to 2017/18 23IKSS owners: - Can the Anderson levelers be used with the narrow axle spacing of the 23IKSS?
- Is there an outside AC outlet? It looks like there is one on the curbside rear near the LP grill connection.
- We're assuming that the television runs on 120V. Is that correct?
- Finally, since most of our adventures will be in the Northeast US, would it be worth the additional cost for the 15K BTU air conditioning system over the standard 13.5 unit?
As always, thanks in advance for considering a response to our newbie questions!

1. Don't see why not.
2. Yes. Above it you should see the external TV mount so you can move your TV outside if you want. You would plug it into the 120VAC outlet.
3. Yes. See answer to #2.
4. I would opt for the 15K unit. It's only 11% more cooling, but seems like good insurance to me.

1. No. They have to be trimmed to fit. I tried and did not like them. I use 2x8 lengths of wood.
4. Yes get the upgrade. I did and am not sorry I did.

In Indiana, summer days are mid 80s to mid 90s, with humidity. In the four and a half seasons we had our 23ikss, I don't recall a time I wanted a bigger ac.

No, one of Anderson levlers mjst bw trimmed to fit, possibly negating capability to properly level.
Yes, there is AC outlet. Yes, TV needs it.
Get the 15K BTU A/C

Another fan of the 15k AC. Get it.

To add.... I have heard people who have the 13k say, "wish we had the 15k".
Not once have I ever heard someone with a 15k say, "too much AC, wished we bought the smaller unit".
Food for thought.

We live in the Northeast (Maine), and rarely do we use the AC even at home. We do get some hot days, but most of the time, the humidity is low and it doesn't feel as bad.
Would I upgrade my AC.......if the difference in cost between the 13.5 and 15 is minimal..... yes,
but if the cost is substantial.....no !

Thanks for all the input!
It seems the consensus is leaning toward nixing the Anderson Levelers and going with a more traditional approach: wood, lego blocks, etc. Thanks to Ron045 for his very logical never "too much A/C" musing. We'll look at the up-charge for the 15K unit and, if within budget, I think we'll opt for the larger unit. We're doing a great job crossing-off questions on our list of concerns! We thank all of you who have generously addressed our posts.

We use X chocks on the wheels and the Lego blocks on the stabilizer Jack's and stairs.
Last night all four of us were sitting in the dinnette slide and there was obvious movement. I suggested we get these.

My DW said, "It's a camper, it's supposed to move. Leave it alone". I think I have a problem. I can stop buying stuff and making upgrades.
Good luck! Have Fun!

I hear you, Ron. I've noticed what seems to be a bad sign already. I have more spreadsheets analyzing this purchase than when we bought our house! The killer is going to be the "Accessories to Purchase & Install" spreadsheet...
I've tried to hide behind retirement's fixed income rationale for all the analysis, but truthfully, I believe that OCD is the root cause.
"OCD". It bothers me that those letters aren't in alphabetical order!

The universal RV stabilizers work great on our
23IKSS. One under the rear frame and one under the frame behind the stairs. There is almost no movement now. We also use the yellow Camco wheel stop chocks that have worked great in both Roos and they are cheap and you get at Walmart.

From my limited experience, I think if the slide outs could get supported, that would eliminate a lot of movement. When the 4 of us and the dog are in the dinette / couch area, 100% of our weight is on the slide out.
These look like they might work... But I think my mod/accessory budget is already blown this season.
Have Fun, rockin' and rollin'.

Using slideout supports, like those pictured, is a no-no by the RV manufacturers and using them will void the warranty, if there are issues.

I bought a set of these, then discovered that they would not fit my 2012 Roo 19. Had to get a set of BAL X-chocks.
Word to the wise: Whatever version you buy, make sure before you buy them that they will fit your tire spacing.

Camco makes a product to compete with the Anderson levelers. It's smaller and fits between the narrow tire spacing of a Roo. I tried out a set on my last trip and they worked great.

Put a set of JT Strongarm stabilizers on it, best mod I have ever had, takes a LOT of the bouncing out of the rig, I won't own a camper without them, they really should come on there stock in my opinion.
