Thanks a lot!

your Dometic manual should show you where to get the model number.

Yeah, I haven't purchased the trailer yet. I am still doing some research.

Mine has a Dometic model DM2652RBFX in it. It is a 2011 Roo 23SS that I picked up in April.

Most new trailers ship with either a Norcold or a Dometic.

I have a Dometic 2652 as well - works well.

I have the Dometic 2652 as well. Works great but I keep hearing what appears to be a fan running?? Is this correct and if so, why is it running so often? The fridge isn't giving me any problems but am wondering if this is normal for the model.

My '07 23SS's fridge has no fan. Strictly an absorption-style.
The fridge is right above the coverter and its fan, though.

There is a fan behind the unit. Mine will cycle on and off periodically. I assume this is to help circulate air through the coils. On my old popup I actually installed a 12 volt computer fan to do the same thing. It's frig had a really hard time maintaining temperature when camping in 90+ temps. My Roo's frig works great though even in hot temps, although I have thought about installing a switch for its fan so I can turn it off when dry camping to conserve a few amps. Don't know if this would screw up the frig's electronics or not though.

My fridge fan cycles on and off all the time. The fridge works great though. So I figured that the fan was normal...

I ended up buying the Roo 23SS last summer shortly after I started this thread. I absolutely love it!

I installed a switch to turn the fan off at night. It was annoying when trying to sleep and have the fan cycle off and on. It did not adversely affect the refer, that I could tell.

this is interesting.

if my '07 23SS has no fan in its fridge, when and why did FR change to a fridge with a fan?

my fan-less Dometic has worked great for over 5 years.

Don't know when or why Dometic changed their design. Just so there is no confusion, the fan I was referring to, and I think the OP as well, is not in the fridge. It is mounted on top of the coils on the back of the unit's exterior.

jwuertz, just wondering how you installed your switch? The fan on my fridge cannot be reached from outside. I haven't had time to see if I can get to the wiring or not from the access door on the side of the trailer. Did you install the switch inside the trailer or just in the access compartment? Trying to decide if it is worth the trouble. The fan can be annoying on a quiet night, but most of our camping is in the mountains, and the sound of the creek is usually sufficient to cover it up.
