3 week old 23IKSS back to dealer

First off I want to say I love this camper, that being said, we had a major malfunction. From the first time we used the slide out(couch and dinette) we knew something wasn't right. In fact I had posted a question on the forum about it. It was very noisy, alot of banging, we did have a 2005 roo with a large slide but it never sounded like that. ANYWAY, had to go back to the dealer to pick up the tags so we figured we would just tow the trailer. As we demonstrated the slide, the mechanic went underneath to check things out. When he asked me to bring the slide back in, BINGO, the gear(some part) sheared right off in front of him. I am grateful for a couple of things, that the kid did not get hurt, that we weren't off camping(because now the slide is out) and that this all happened right at the dealership. Now I have to say they were great, they stopped all their work to work on our unit. But after 4 hours we were not getting anywhere. So we unhitched and head home. Now I have to blame forest river for letting this unit out with poor quality control, and I should have not accepted the unit on delivery(it was a little loud but got continually worse each time we opened it). Needless to say Forest River will be getting a call from me on Monday morning. My fear is if the dealer could not fix it, can it be fixed? Will Forest River replace the unit with a new one? But for anyone else out there who just got, or ordered this unit, its a great unit, just make sure you do a thorough delivery walk through, test everything 2 or 3 times, Will keep you posted on our outcome.

Sorry to hear about your slide issue. If dealer can't fix it then it'll probably be sent back to the factory for repair. Unfortunately I kinda doubt FR will replace the camper with a new one.

Like the others said, if your dealer can't fix it- it'll go back to the Shamrock factory.

I know because my Sabre goes back to the factory next month.

OK so here is my update. Today we were on the phone with Roger the warranty manager from Flagstaff(thanks to this forum we were able to get his phone number, plus I had already emailed him last week to report the "popping" sound). My husband spoke to his this AM and he just called our home now to give us a update. They are overnighting the necessary parts to fix this problem. Basically what he told me is, they have had this problem in the past with these components from Lippert. They were under the impression the problems had been resolved. Our unit is the first 2014 to have the problem start up again. So people beware, if you hear any unusual sounds coming from the slide out(couch/dinette) take it right back to your dealer.
