Thumbs up A ROOview of the 2012 233S

From July to October, our journey from a 1999 Coleman popup (PUP) to a Roo has been like a typical camping trip with its up-and-down adventures. Twenty years in tents and 12 years in a PUP had us looking to "expand" to expandables. Reading all the opinions and ideas, since July, was helpful. BUT, there are alot of "issues" discussed here that make one nervous regarding the purchase and use of hybrids.

For us, the experience has been great. The 233S has been used a week, since picking it up from the dealer. Our dealer (OrlandoRV) has been great. Their staff has been very supportive. The camper is great. So many buttons to push that make camping easy and simple. Forest River has done a good job in building our camper. They have done a poor job of communicating with their customers. We paid 2011 prices for a 2012 camper...much to our benefit.

Changes were made "for the good" from 2011 to 2012, but FR did not inform us. Even the dealer did not know about the changes until the unit arrived. U-dinette added, cabinets over dinette gone, LCD HDTV added, and cabinets changed from oak to hickory.

As of this posting, I had to tighten 2 screws and seal a gap between an outside storeage bin and the inside wall...warranty work, but I decided to "do-it-myself" rather than drive 6 hours round trip. WE ARE LUCKY to have gotten what we paid for.

So, not to gloat, but as many are wrapping up their camping for 2011, we are starting ours. Again, we are VERY lucky...camping is a year round sport in Florida. We plan to ROOL the road all year long. This has become ROOlly long and filled with ROOvelations and it is ROOd to stay too long. Don't want to ROOn any good will out there. ROOspect the ROO!

That sounds very similar to our story... We are ALSO new 2012 233S owners...

Hopefully we will run across you one day on the road! We too are year-round campers... Living in AZ has SOME advantages. :-)

The television in the 2012.5 233S is mounted on the cabinet above the couch (immediately to the right when you walk in).

We have camped there the past two early years in early April. We had great weather both years. I highly recommend Myrtle Beach State Park. It's our favorite campground bar none!

We bought our 2013 233S in the Spring and have camped for 20 nights this season in it. I've towed from MD to KY and back and multiple trips to closer campgrounds.

We are extremely happy with it and don't really have any complaints. We got it because we felt that our kids needed their own beds and some space.
