Adding a second battery to 21SS
Does anyone know if the charger in the Roo 21SS can handle a second 12V battery in parallel?

Thanks. I assumed it would just supply the additional current until at the rating limit.

Now would be a good time to install a battery disconnect if you haven't already. I recommend a Blue Seas 6006m for a two 6-volt battery bank or the 9001e with two 12-volt batteries.
You said you were adding a second battery so I assume you want two 12-volts. Remember to match the new battery with the old.
And as others have said, your WFCO 8955 will do the job.

We just returned from a Vancouver, B.C. to San Diego road trip in our 2012 233s, only our second trip in it. Our first trip was early April and after the first night of below freezing temperatures the battery was in need of a charge in the morning. We mainly dry camp and camping with four females it is more fun when you keep them warm and dry. I did my research and decided on a pair of Trojan T-145 plus 6 volt batteries. They are the largest batteries that will fit within the factory battery support brackets. Although expensive ( $512 cdn including new battery box and jumper cable ), and heavy ( 72 lbs each ), they provide plenty of amp hours ( 260 ). So far I'm very happy with my purchase. When charging I leave the battery disconnect off and use a CTEK charger to charge and maintain the batteries while not in use.

I wonder what the USA price for the same battery would have been. Everything in Canada is more expensive when it comes to electronics, vehicles etc.
And Happy wife Happy life is generally a gr8 rule to understand. Only the freezer is to be kept cold.

Last year I installed T-145s for $150 per battery (dealer's cost). They normally will run $175-$200, though.

I am in Toronto but got my 2 6V GC1 from Costco in Myrtle Beach for $88 each, including taxes, core fee and hazardous material something fee in SC. I call that a deal. Costco tells me they are only stocked at warehouses close to golf courses, a few of them in MB
They're rated for 220AH - very, very happy with performance. Not sure who makes them for Costco, but I am generally happy with their stuff and warranty.
I spent $22 for 2 new battery boxes from JC Whitney.
