Any ideas? Extend a step DIY

Looking for ideas on how to extend/add a step to my existing one. I have a 3 year old and he sometimes struggles to reach the step.

Thx

I had an elderly visitor that could not make the first step so I built one on the spot with my lynx leveler blocks.

I carry an old 3 piece plastic step that the wife use to use in her exercise class. They snap on top of each other so you can adjust for any height. I still see them at garage sales.
