Drove 20 miles to get there and was told he couldn't help me with out vin# on the camper, which I didn't have with me. Gave him make and model # of camper and told him it has exact same switches for the slideouts. However, he said nothing he could do without vin #.

The awning uses a reversable dc motor. Why don't you just reverse the wires on the switch and see if it will extend when the retract side of the switch is actuated? This will test the switch to see if it is bad.
