Has anyone inatalled Bal stabilizers on a 21SS? I bought two sets but am struggling to find a place to mount them. Any help would be appreciated.

BAL Lock-Arm Stabilizing Bar - BAL 23216 - Stabilizing Jacks - Camping World

It came with scissor jacks. I wanted tobadd the stabilizers to the jacks to stop some of the rocking.

have you tried tandem wheel chocks first?
that's what most of us have done and it cures nearly all the movement.
and i have a 23SS and don't even have the scissor jacks for stabilizers.
i have what are basically pictured in the CW ad that you linked and have never needed such bars after using tandem wheel chocks.

I made a pair of between the tire chocks that helped alot. Still have some movement though and was hoping to take it down some more. My wife seems to be sensitive to it.

I haven't seen anybody do this on a Roo, but interestingly enough in the reviews on the CW site, one of them is from somebody who says they put them on 23' Roo (don't say which model). There isn't a whole lot of frame under there to work with, but hopefully you can find a suitable mounting location.

And the description says "easy bolt on installation" ....

Hmmm I'm not sure...those stabilizers are typically for larger TT & 5ers.

The x-chocks should absolutely stop all fore-aft rocking...is the swaying happening when your wife is in the bunk end or other end of the unit? If so, I wonder if some sort of centerline brace could be rigged?

If you wind up not needing the stabilizers and can't return them, message me - I might be interested if the price is right

FYI, there is a BIG difference between home made between the tire chocks and a BAL X-Chock:

http://www.amazon.com/BAL-28012-X-Ch...ds=bal+x+chock

The Bals absolutely immobilize your wheels (they also make the best wheel chocks out there! Put em on before you unhook

Wow! I read the second review on Amazon for these chocks and the man said he over tightened them and blew two tires!

I wonder what he was using to tighten them-- a pneumatic impact wrench? LOL

You get a ratchet wrench with the BALs-turn to one side tightens, flip it over to untighten.

I have been using these chocks for over 8 years (in fact this set is off the 7 year old TT I sold last year

I have never so much as cut a tire with these chocks....and I really can't imagine just HOW much you would have to over tighten to blow a tire - if that was even mechanically possible with a BAL!

The way I read the post, the OP is using an X-chock type setup. Post says "between the tire type." Doesn't matter if you bought them or made them from blocks and threaded rod, they work the same way. And they work good, but they don't eliminate 100% of the movement.

And per the manufacturer's instructions, you should not put them on before you unhook. Instructions say not to raise/lower the tongue/landing gear with the X-chocks in use because of stress on the tires & axles. Lots of people do, but it is contrary to the manufacturer's instructions.

Use the Bal X Chocks and have front to back homemade Strong Arm type stabilizers on the back and across the front landing jacks. If I tighten the jack stabilizers, the front to back motion is eliminated, but the bounce sure isn't. I eliminate that with reinforced electric jacks(thanks again Herk & youroo) in front of the axle and a step support. No movement, up, down, sideways, front to back.

Most of my movment comes from the bed at the other end. If the kids move we feel it. Not sure we will ever get rid of it completly, nature of the beast...

I have home made chocks from wood and thread-all. I was hoping to put the stabilizers at right angles on opposite corners but it looks like I may need to go the homemade route to do it.

Or modify the Strong Arms.

I do not have strong arms, I have ball stabilizers which are relatively short. My problem is finding open space on the frame to attach the brackets. The front is blocked by the tongue and the stairs. The rear is blocked by the dump valves on one side and there is no cross member across the rear of the tt.

So I finally got around to installing my stabilizers. Originally I planed to install one in each direction on the front and the same in the back, but because of the short frame there wasnt enough room in the front to do that. I had to add spaceres to the frame in front to allow the stabilizers to clear the A frame.

In the rear I installed the door side front to rear and am planning to add a cross member to the rear of the frame to add the other side to side.

Finaly got the last one installed. I had to run another support along the black tank bracket between the frame rails. Trailer is pretty solid now even without the between the tire chocks. Hopefully this helps someone else.

Thanks for the pictures. And by adding those what movement did you take out or settle down?

The front to back and side to side rocking motion of the suspension. My real goal was to keep the trailer from transmitting motion from the rear bed to the front. Havnt used it yet since the install but just pushing on the side/front of the trailer I can see a huge difference when they are locked and when they arnt.
