Target, 3" memory foam for us. Can't remember but I think it was around $100. Although, I'd have paid $500 and it would still have been worth not sleeping on that mattress.

Bed, Bath & Beyond. Less than $20 with a coupon. It got really good reviews so we tried it. Couldn't resist at that price. Not bad, and its thin enough to stay on the mattress when we fold the bed up.

How do you keep the mattress from falling out of the bunk areas when folded up? When we used our memory foam topper the clips would not stay attached to the bunk door and our mattress would fall on the floor during transport.

We store our memory foam mattresses on the table during travel. Ours are 3" and I doubt the bunks would close if we kept them on.

We got in the habit of taking off the front bunk mattress and placing that on the table regardless after my accident last summer where I damaged the front bunk door (finally getting that replaced in another week), so we shouldn't have any problems throwing the memory foam on their too!

By taking off the mattress, it allows for a much easier job tucking the canvas in when you are packing up. We will be on the lookout for some good deals on the memory foam prior to our next campout!

I am able to fold both bunk ends without removing the mattress or the topper. Takes two people but DW and I have it down to a science now, making sure all the canvas gets tucked in properly.

@force, what keeps your mattress and topper from sliding off the bed? I understand I can move it to the table, but we sometimes have other stuff on there when transporting and is rather not move the mattresses around frequently. I was able to get my Costco memory foam and mattress folded but they would not stay snapped when the memory foam expands. I wonder if I could use a ratchet or tie down strap of some type and use the cables to keep it secure to the bed. I will look at it after I take the cover off. Memory foam is currently rolled into a 55 gallon garbage bag for storage. Luckily we don't need one for my 5 year old, yet but when another couple comes it would be nice to be able to give them a comfortable bed.

We keep a fitted sheet on the mattress & topper to keep them as a single unit. When we fold the bunk up, I make sure the mattress is folded and pushed as far toward the front before I flip the front bunk up from the outside. Have not had a problem with anything staying in place.

Note that I do not use the little snaps to hold the mattress in place. Those things are a little silly imho

Here are a few pics I just took. Was time to check the Roo's hibernation status today anyway.
