Bedding for 2014 Roo 233s

Just purchased a 2014 Roo (233s) - We are on our first camping trip and holy cow these mattresses are uncomfortable.

Any recommendations to improve the comfort level without compromising the space to fold back into the unit?

What is everyone else using for bedding?

Love the unit - just need to make some minor adjustment to bedding (and stabelizing).

Memory foam mattress toppers. They come in various thicknesses. Depending on the thickness you choose you might have to roll them up stow them someplace like under the dinette or on the floor. For the stabilizing issue, are you using wheel chocks?

We have a 2" memory foam topper. Had to cut it to fit. We don't attach the mattress to the door, either.

I noticed the same when we were looking at the Roo. The beds feel like springs hitting your back. In our PUP we used memory foam which I plan on using in the Roo.

a lot of RV owners, not just hybrid owners, get a foam topper for their mattresses.
but it's pretty standard for hybrid owners. very few sleep on just the mattress.

We haven't purchased the foam toppers yet, but it is certainly on the punch list of items. Silly question, but where does one go to get the foam topper/memory foam at a good value? No need to spend a ton of money since we don't live on them every day of the week, although at times, we'd like too! .

I got a standard size Serta queen in my trailer it is freaking hard so I got a 2" pad at Shopko, is much better now.

So there really are a lot of people who are not real happy with their beds.

you have to understand that hybrids and popups, don't have regular mattresses like yours.
they are basically a 3"-4" foam or coil mattress, nothing like a Serta or typical mattress.

I do understand the difference, all I am saying is the matts are junk regardless of what type trailer we have.

If my matt was 2-4 inch's thick but comfortable I'd be clam happy.

But I had to spend more money just like nearly everyone in order to be able to sleep comfortably.

We got our 2" memory foam at Wally World. On top of the regular mattress, you'll be just fine. You don't need to spend big $$$.

Yup not just Hybrids. Friends FR Sierra TT w/ bunk house in the back has the same coil spring mattress and they are not very comfortable.
Foam mattress cover and you'll be fine.

My wife and I use a 3 inch gel topper for our bed and the kids bed has a 2 inch memory foam topper.

Redstick we got both of ours at Sams Club and from I remember they weren't expensive.

my wife is disabled after having neck surgery so she cant stand the mattresses in the trailer. We bought the memory foam topper and it wasn't enough and was very warm. Added a feather topper and the 2 made it perfect, you just have to get sheets for a pillw top mattress.

We use 3" memory foam, too. We were lucky to find them at a local dept store that was going out of business - 60% off. We store them folded on the dinette for travelling.

We got our 2" topper on sale at Target which was at the time a tad cheaper than the ones we saw at Walmart. Less than $100 after tax and was the best addition we ever made to our ROO! Even in the cold weather, the mattress heat still comes through the topper so staying temperature comfy has not been an issue.

Best place to get a memory foam topper is Costco.

We used one for years in our Coleman pop-up and now have one in the Flagstaff TT. They usually go on sale a couple of times a year and are a great deal. Don't get a standard foam topper they don't last.

I don't think human technology has advanced to the point that we can make a 2-4 inch mattress that is comfortable for an adult. (I have found that kids can sleep on a burlap sack full of bricks and be ok).

Do the foam topper. You wont regret it.

And Kohl's if they are in your area. They often have killer sales (e.g., 50% off) that we wait for and then combine with one of the 30% off coupons they mail out to cardholders. Got two memory foams several years ago for the camper and paid $70 for each (from $200 retail).
