Hello again...I previously posted in the "Shamrock" section where I learned that the Forest River Shamrock was a twin to the Rockwood Roo!
A little bit about my experience:
We were looking for an affordable camper that our truck would be able to tow and came across the FR Shamrock. SOLD!!! We were so excited when we went to pick up last Wednesday but our excitement quickly turned to anger and disappointment!
PDI had NOT been scheduled before we arrived (They had 2 weeks to complete this) so, we patiently waited around. Upon the final walk through, we discovered that 3 of the button heads on one side of the drop down bed canvas had been pulled right through the canvas as well as a bent burner cover! (beds have snap system under skirting)
After calling in a couple times and conveying my dissapointment, dealer agreed to reinforce snaps on all beds, replace stove cover and re-caulk the entire unit.
What should have been an exciting and fun experience quickly turned into a gong show. I should mention here that the Shamrock is a brand new 2011 model clear out that is brand new!
Thinking of telling dealer to cancel contract and keep his camper. I have only to question in my mind now how long it is going to take for the tent ends to leak and rot and worry about the drop downs breaking off while we are sleeping in the middle of the night. I have a very hard time believing that those 2 think little plastic coated aircraft cables will hold up 500 pounds of husband and wife in one bed!!
Maybe I am over thinking things...what do you all think???
