I've used ADCO from my Roo to my 5er. They are good for the price. Eventually all will get some wear spots.

Most of us have experience with only one brand of cover. Mine is an ADCO, as well. It works fine. One tip is to use tennis balls on the downspouts to help prevent tears in the cover and to make it easier to put on and off. Also, use the cinch straps under the camper and at each end to mitigate rubbing.

I have an ADCO too. This will be the 3rd winter for it, and it's showing very little signs of wear. I am going to try the tennis balls this year. That's a great idea.

You'll like it. Just slice an X into each ball with a knife and pop onto the downspout.

If you have leftover pipe insulation you can cut pieces of it to put over the downspouts too. The self sealing helps keep them on. Like the tennis ball idea also. Lots of downspouts on the 5er to cover.

I had some room in the front and the cover fit perfect over the tanks!! Not sure if I'm going to leave that way for the winter, still have one more trip planned in a couple of weeks.

That's because they always show you a cover that fits the TT perfectly. Fat chance you'll get one that does, as they're usually ordered in 2 ft size increments, if I remember correctly. When I put mine on last winter (1st time) I had all the extra at the back, so I covered the spare tire, but realized later I should put the extra in the front and cover the battery and tanks. That's my plan this winter.

With a fiver we don't have that luxury. The excess remains in the back.

How do you get the cover on the roof and the take it off? One, two or 3 person job?

First time did it by myself and a step ladder!! Put the cover on top of the roof, climb up and unfold and drop down on all 4 corners!! Took about 30 min to install.. There is a really good video on line of how to install the cover and worked great for me. Checked on it last night after a week of being on and is really helping to keep the trailer nice and clean. Going to be using it all year round.

Wifey and I put the cover on. I tie a rope around the rear of the cover and toss it onto the front of the roof. I pull the cover up with Wifey helping from down below. I drag it rearward across the roof and unfold each side, climb down the ladder dragging it with me. It takes about 15 mins to do. All that is left is to cinch down the sides.

How should you measure for a cover? Whole trailer from from front of hitch to rear bumper or just the camper itself?

Go onto the ADCO website. They give instruction for proper measurement.

Measure RV from end to end (including bumpers, spare tire and ladder) to determine RV Cover needed for proper fit. Do not rely on manufacturer’s specifications. Covers should fit loose.
