Thank you everyone! I appreciate all the responses that I got and so fast. I am home now. My hairdryer fiasco was last night. My last night of camping so I just decided to wait until I got home.
Anyway, I am all set!
I tripped the breaker.
If I would admit that I am a 52 year old woman that NEEDS reading glasses, I would have been able to see the "push" symbol on the fuse box and could have opened it. Thanks for the tips!
Just so you all know (and for those that may have a similar problem and find this post):
- If the labeling on my panel is correct, my GFI (and all my other outlets) and Refer are on ONE 15 amp.
- Lesson learned, turn stuff off before blow drying your hair!
- The GFI didn't trip. I plugged in here at home, and as soon as I reset the breaker, the green light on the GFI came on. I guess in the electrical world the breaker tripped instead of the GFI???
I got all good information from all of you that I know will come in handy. I knew I could count on you all! Thank you.
For those of you along the East coast, take care as Arthur barrels up from Florida. I am north of Boston expecting only heavy rain. I will be thinking of those not so fortunate and hope you are safe.
