Brand new 2012 taking on water

A sleep in Parry Sound as I'm woken up by heavy rains, I do a inspection of the rear tent end and what do I find a steady drip of water through the corner seal approaching mattress.

You're best to take this into your dealer and have them look at it under warranty. First, you want to jump on this quickly. Second, an official paper trail will help if you have another problem down the road that can be tied to this.

Its always tough when there is a leak and especially with a new trailer. Good luck.

Is this the first time the bunk ends have gotten wet? If so, the thread in the seams need to get wet/dry for it to expand and seal the needle holes. The first thing I did when I got my new camper home was to set it up and hose down the tenting just for this reason.

What latner says is true. The seams do need to be seasoned per the manual, although they are not exactly sieves coming from the factory. Its more like beads of water instead of a steady drip.

Still, let it dry thoroughly and then test it again with your hose. Might work.

Thanks all. I saw rust on the screw and ignored it thinking it was not a problem. Now that I caught it leaking it's a whole different ball game. I looked at it today and it makes no sense why and how it's leaking but the video I took and the pictures are excellent for my argument of a leak. All 3 corners are sealed and no rust visible.

As the water continues and the excuse from Forest River demands a buyer beware warning or lawsuit.

I'm embarrassed to put a tarp over that end in a brand New 2012 trailer but with the traffic at this campsite bad advertising for forest river.

We just packed up rear bunk at 12:15 as both rear corners are flooding. Moved my soon as the roof is forming big water droplets in each corner. And as forest river told my dealership this was normal as the stitching had to swell. Oh okay. And a car leaking oil is normal as the seals must swell also.
