Bunk End Replacement Advice

Hey guys I'm kinda new to the board, and been lurking but first post. Great forum btw I have gotten a ton of tips from you folks so thank you first and foremost. Also I actually just received my set of pugs yesterday ; )

Ok so here goes, I have a 2006 roo 233 that is perfect for us but has some front door delam, and inside wood rot along the hinge area. In addition. the roof has some spongy areas in the rear as well. So new roof and new front door needed, I get that and accept it.

Questions/advice part:
We're do I start? Call forest river, drive into local dealor, or find a local rv repair place..... Notes here I'm third owner but do live in rv meca Charlotte NC and there is a lot of facilities around

Could I do this myself, I like to think myself as handy I mean I restore classic cars, Harley's etc.. But I've gotten myself in trouble like that before and humble enough to know what's over my head

What kinda costs we talking? Dealor vs DIY

Appreciate any and all advice given and taking the time to read my long rant/post

Thanks, Mike

Welcome!

The front bunk can usually be ordered from FR (for ~$600) and installed yourself with some help from a friend or two. You can also opt to repair it if its not too much damage and there are a couple of threads on the forum that describe that process. I don't have those threads handy so would have to search for them.

The roof is a whole different matter. If a replacement is necessary, I would definitely have it replaced at the factory or by a qualified service center.
