Bunk Light/Fan Combo Problem
We had our new to us Roo 233 out this weekend at Lake Anna State Park. All three of our 12v bunk fans would run on high for about a min. and then stop. They work fine on the low setting. Has anyone had this issue and if so what did you do to fix?

2 out of the 3 of ours are working fine. The 3rd one is broken, so I need to take it to my dealer, it's never been used! Sorry you're having issues with them.

since it's new to you, i assume it's out of warranty.
some of the fans had a capacitor or something like that, that malfunctioned. some simply soldered a new one in.
you can get new bunk/light combos off of Ebay.

Both our bunk fans do the same thing. Work fine on low but only run on high for about 30secs. then the fan speed drops way down to a crawl.

there's an old thread on RV.net's Hybrid Forum.
you might do a search on it.

Same issue here. Ours is a 2007 23SS we got used so I guess I will just have to replace them.

my '07 23SS's fan combo are still working, knock on wood.
i know there were a bad batch of them for a time. the previous owners probably never dealt with them while it was under warranty.
if you do a search on RV.net Hybrid forum or post a question about fixing them, i'm sure someone has the info on what they did to fix them. i seem to remember that they replaced a diode.

I have had all ours replaced on our 2011 233s roo. New ones are working fine. I then removed the capacitors on the old fans and they now work great. Not sure why they are there but when the capacitors got hot that's when the fan would stop working. The capacitors are small so I'm thinking they are used as a noise filter. I've ran all three with caps removed with no effect in radio or tv.

Just removed the capacitors from our three fans and all are working without issue. Thanks for the advice.

Same here. I just had to remove/bypass one of them on mine.
There is a small orange one on mine and I just twisted it so that it would bypass the cap. and complete the circuit.

That is not a cap. It is a PTC self-resetting thermal fuse.
Either the PTC is not rated hot enough, or the fan motor is getting hotter than it should. If it is the latter, be careful. If it catches on fire and it is found that you modifed the fan, you will be liable.
