Cable Support

Our unit had new doors installed by dealer, and this weekend I took notice how cable was attached to bunk door...and then noticed the white channel piece that seems to not be used for anything. I do not remember how cable was attached to old doors. In looking at the photo, is this done correctly? What is purpose of white channel screwed to bunk door? All 3 new doors are attached in same manner--- "L" bracket with one small bolt going through door with large washer on outside.

Note...pretty sloppy job on bracket placement. My assumption is the L bracket was in place from FR.

Again, I want to know what the white channel is for as it runs full width of door ---- and should there be a stronger connection of the cable to the door?? Cable connection to inside of camper is rather strong.

I think it just stiffens that end of the door preventing it from bowing under the weight of people sleeping on the door.

X3 and what you have in the picture is what holds the bunk door up (the L bracket and the big washer on the outside).
