Cades Cove in Smokey Mountains NP is not far from there and is beautiful. Check Tennessee State Parks also.

ABC Gatlinburg

We have stayed at ABC Gatlinburg a few time. It was formally known as crazy-horse. Its out 321 traffic light #3 in Gatlinburg. Maybe 15 minutes outside of town. It was pretty good. If you have kids they have a 500 ft waterside and numerous activities. Its dated but wasn't bad. They do have full hook up but the sites are closer than we like. If you don't need full hook up the sites are bigger. Gatlinburg Campgrounds | Adventure Bound Gatlinburg|

We stayed at Smoky Bear Campground a couple of times a few years ago. It was a bit out-of-town - but it was extremely clean and quiet.

Have you checked out ? We get a lot of good info from that website. We are also going to Gatlinburg in August and are staying at Twin Creek RV Resort.

Just stayed 2 weeks in June 2016 at Smokey Bear and highly recommend them. Clean and friendly!

Just stayed at Camp LeConte which is on east 321 about 5 miles from downtown Gatlinburg. Close enough but far enough from all the chaos.

Campgrounds near Gatlinburg, Tn

I would not recommend Adventure Bound. We stayed there last year and had a problem, which we reported on our way out for the day to sight see. Came back that evening, problem not resolved. Upon checkout the next day, I asked why they never addressed it and was told they attempted to but we weren't there. (Say what?? We should spend our vacation day waiting for their maintenance?) after a little discussion about that, they told me if I didn't like it, don't come back!!! Unbelievable! Check out the overall reviews on trip advisor. I wish I had before I stayed there. I wrote to corporate (it's a chain) and they failed to resolve the issue for me. Once I posted to Trip Advisor though, they wanted me to contact them about it. Sorry, too late!
