Camping at a lake house. Sewage question.

We will mainly have our new Roo parked at a friend's lake house. We had a pop up out there previously with a cassette toilet that was easily emptied. We like being able to use our own toilet/shower. We will be using a large grey water tank for the shower water, but what do we do about the toilet waste? Any ideas without dragging it somewhere to a dump station? They are on city sewer, but there is a septic tank still on the property.

The first ideas that come to my mind need some additional information.

How far is it from the house to where you're camper will be? What kind of change in elevation between the two?

By "dragging it" do you mean the trailer or the waste?

How did you dump the "cassette toilet"?

Use a Macerator Pump thru a small hose(5/8 -3/4) to the sewer or septic tank. Youroo!! I made this one from a Garbage Disposal.

We don't want to have to take the camper to a dump station.

I think a macerate pump like youroo posted is likely the best bet for you. The distance and elevation change matters, though.

I have a lake property that gets A LOT of guests with trailers throughout the summer. I have made a macerator pump using a garbage disposal like the one above. Works great if you have a place to run the garden hose to. We have a sewer clean-out on the outside of the cabin to use for this purpose. Much better than running it into a septic field. All of my friends were laughing at me when I was making the macerator pump but they don't anymore when the saw how good it worked.

It is 3/4HP I see you live in Texas, where do you want it! No really it depends on Lift & Length, like Eppy said. 75-100ft on a MILD lift is doable! Youroo!!

With my disposal I have it hooked up to a 100 hose. It is downhill about 6 feet so I have no issues with the hose length. Amazingly enough, I only have to run the disposal for about 20 seconds at the beginning and then a few seconds every couple minutes. The siphon effect takes care of the rest. This is even with the black tank. Doesn't seem to make sense but it works great.

Our local pumpers will come by the lake lot and dump our black tank. I have been quoted about $ 35 per trip if they can do it on their regular scheduled trips
